The Play:”Six Years” By: Sharr White
A synopsis:Phil Granger returns home from the war two years later than expected. His wife, Meredith, asks few questions and comforts him. The quintessential “Greatest Generation” couple, then embarks on the American Dream. Sharr White’s fascinating tale follows this couple over the course of five separate scenes, each set six years apart, charting their journey through a “Levittown like” real estate development financial success,
“Mad Men like” early 60′s uncertainties, and finally “Vietnam era”complications, where now, they are the parents of an enlisted soldier.Six Years, tells the story of America in a riveting homegrown drama reminiscent of the classic American playwrights, Arthur Miller and Eugene O’Neil.

Take I-95 to Yamato Road and head East. Turn left on Dixie Hwy.-the restaurant is on the corner of Yamato and Dixie in the Stonegate Bank Building

DIRECTIONS TO THE THEATER:
It’s just a few blocks away: Take I-95 to Yamato Road East. At Dixie Highway, turn left just past the railroad tracks and then turn right into the Stonegate Bank Building and park. The Pavilion is on the 1st floor. After dinner, we’ll head to the Caldwell Theatre, which is about a mile north on RT 1 at 7901 Federal Highway.

SOME INFO: Please be seated for dinner by 6pm, since we must leave the restaurant by 7:30; SHOWTIME is at 8! After dinner, we’ll drive the few blocks to the Caldwell Theater.

MORE INFO:
Tickets for the theater will be handed out at the restaurant, so there will be no delay when entering the theater. Better seats will be given to those who sign up first.

The Menu:
Begin with a tossed or Caesar salad, then, served ‘family style’: a selection of Chicken, Fish, and Brisket of Beef, Vegetables, plus dessert and coffee, tea, or a soft drink. (wine or cocktails are extra).

(Please be seated by 6pm since we will depart by 7:30 for the play at 8, just a few blocks away.) The Entertainment: Then it’s off… to the Caldwell Theater for a great performance of the new play “Six Years.”

The Deal:
Just the tickets alone to this show sell for up to $50 each. Feel like more ‘nightlife’ after the play? Well, stay out and ‘play’–AT NO CHARGE: head back to the Pavilion for dancing to the great music of The “Kickback Band”, who will be taking our requests.
